A professional working for an Intelligence Agency. IO's may be CASE OFFICERS, AGENT HANDLERS or intelligence gatherers (spies). Often confused with AGENTS. (For instance, if James Bond was a real person, he would not be an Agent, but an Intelligence Officer. Nor would he carry a firearm.)
